About Bonaire

Bonaire, Netherlands Antilles, an island amidst calm, azure seas in the Southern Caribbean, is known worldwide for top snorkeling and diving, with a growing reputation as a premier vacation destination. Visitors and residents alike appreciate the reliable sunny climate, the clear, warm ocean with its ring of coral reefs with lush coral vegetation and great numbers of colorful fish. Because the waters around Bonaire have been protected by an actively managed marine park for the past 25 years, Bonaire today ranks amongst the top four best diving destinations in the world. Water temperatures average a warm 78-84 0F (25.6-28.9 0C), with visibility averaging over 100 feet (30m), and frequently reaching up to 150 feet (50m).

Bonaire is just as fascinating above as under water. The island’s highlights include friendly people, exquisite old buildings, rugged scenery, flocks of flamingo’s Caribbean Flamingo, superior wind- or kite-surfing, mountain biking, sailing, kayaking, sightseeing on peaceful dust roads, investigating ancient Indian inscriptions, or sunbathing, just to name a few.

Famous for the temperate climate, cooling tropical trade winds balance the warm, arid environment and almost 365 days of sunny skies. Bonaire boasts daily temperatures of average 82 F (27 C). The island is located far south of the hurricane belt, just 50 miles north of Caracas, Venezuela. Bonaire is the B of the ABC islands, with her sister islands of the Dutch Caribbean: Aruba and Curacao.

Bonaire is approximately 112 square miles and measures just 24 miles long and only 3 to 7 miles from east to west. It is possible to loop the island in one day, but the real charm is to leisurely explore the many hidden beauties.
Our island homes approximately 12,000 residents and not one traffic light. It truly is unhurried, unspoiled, and unforgettable!

That being said, Bonaire offers many attractive features to potential investors: an excellent location, a stable government and democracy, minimal crime, modern services and a healthy resale market. Growth is expected to continue for 10-15 years resulting in high income and equity gains.
